Mary Myrtle Miller

January 1, 1919 — September 4, 2018

Mary M. Miller, 99, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 4, 2018. A resident of El Paso for 60 years, she is survived by her daughters, Sara Smith and Wendy Carpenter (Don); grandchildren Kelly Smith, Rachel Smith, and Shannon Bailey; and great-grandchildren Jeramy and Stone Smith, and Ava, Parker, and Ryan Crouch. She was predeceased by her husband, Harold E. Miller, to whom she was married for 60 years and her sister, Kathryn Wieser Dougherty. Mary was born in Bedford, Iowa to Charles Wieser and Ruth Seeger Wieser. She was a 1962 graduate of UTEP and a teacher for 15 years at Cadwallader Elementary School. She served as a volunteer at Del Sol Medical Center for over 30 years. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and later St. Paul’s United Methodist Church. She will be missed as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed traveling in an RV all over the country with her husband and playing games, especially bridge, with her family and friends.
