Mary S. Golding

Mary Simeonoff Golding, 96, years old, passed away on December 9, 2008. She was born in Dacona, Colorado on December 17, 1911, and was a first generation American. She grew up in Colorado and was a graduate of the University of Northern Colorado in Greely. She worked as a medical technician prior to her marriage to Dr. Frank C. Golding in 1942. They were married for 48 years until his death in 1990. Mary enjoyed gardening, cooking, sewing, bridge, travel, music, and art. She was an accomplished artist, winning many honors at art exhibits in El Paso, TX. Mary was a member of the Medical Auxiliary and Women’s Club of El Paso. Mary is survived by her daughters, Mary Jo Francis of Dallas, Freeda Westmoreland and Frances Golding of El Paso, and Sarah Stringer of Fort Worth. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren, Lee Shaver, Kevin Shaver, Craig Westmoreland, Walter Westmoreland, Liana Lowey, Matthew Stringer, Jordana Golding and one great grandchild, Evanne Lowey. Services will be held on Monday, December 15, 2008, at 1:00 pm, at St Francis on the Hill, 6280 Los Robles, led by David Basch. Burial following the service will be at Memory Gardens of the Valley.
