Mary DeMarte

Maria “Mary” DeMarte, 96, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday, February 12, 2022. Mary was born in Caporetto, Italy, now Kobarid, Slovenia, on September 23, 1925. She resided in her beloved hometown with her mother and two sisters until she met her husband, Pasco, a soldier stationed nearby in the United States Army, whom she married and immigrated with to America. In 1947, at age 21, she gave birth to her only child, John, in Michigan. She moved to El Paso, Texas in 1950 with her family and resided there for the remainder of her life. She was overjoyed to reunite with her mother and sister who followed her to El Paso from Yugoslavia in 1953. Mary was a devout Catholic, proud homemaker, dedicated wife and mother, and loving Nonna proudly involved in raising her two beloved grandchildren. Mary was preceded in death by her husband Pasco DeMarte; mother Antonia Jelincic; sisters Paula Petts, Ivanka Cozzi. She is survived by her son John DeMarte; daughter-in-law Cecilia DeMarte; granddaughters Chelsea DeMarte, Janeen DeMarte; great-grandsons Locke Millsap, Axten Millsap. Visitation will be at 11:30am with a Funeral Service at 12:30pm, on Friday, March 04, 2022 at Sunset Funeral Home Northeast, 4631 Hondo Pass Drive. Committal Service to follow at 2:00pm at Ft.
