Mary Virginia Boyles

September 15, 1924 — January 20, 2012

Mary Virginia Rogers Boyles, born in Lufkin, TX, passed away January 20, 2012 in El Paso, TX. She attended Lufkin High school and later earned her teaching degree and certification from Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, TX. For two years she was an English teacher in the Lufkin Public Schools. In 1957 she began teaching 3rd grade at Zach White Elementary School in El Paso and taught there for 27 years. She was a member of Trinity Methodist Church, Delta Kappa Gamma, Daughters of the American Revolution, El Paso Rio Grande Chapter of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas, Vintage Teachers of Zach White School and Retired Teachers of Texas. After retiring, she was an avid genealogist tracing her family lines. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Ray Leone Boyles, daughters Barbara Boyles Blackwell and Mary Kay Boyles Daniels/Farley of El Paso; grandchildren Monica Daniels Brown/Gerry of College Station, Corbin Blackwell/Natalie and Tyler Daniels/Amanda of El Paso; great grandchildren Aria Bella and Guiliana Daniels, Jaxson, Johnson, Judson and Jacqueline Brown, Fiona and Emory Blackwell; nephew Wm Arthur Bullock/Michelle of the Woodlands and niece Elizabeth Cerre’ Copes of Lufkin, TX; nephew Dwaine Bullock and nieces Dana and Rachel Copes. She was preceded in death by her parents Homer Eugene and Dana Copes Rogers; sisters Florine Eugenia Rogers and Margaret Adele Rogers Bullock; and great grandson Jameson Garrett Brown. Special thanks to Becky, Erika, Diony, Anna, Sarah, Mary Lou and Maria. Honorary Paul Bearers, John Wilbanks, David Graham, Harlie Cox, Corbin Blackwell, Tyler Daniels and Gerry Brown. Visitation will be held from 5:30-7:30 pm, Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at Sunset Funeral Home-West. Graveside services will be held at Ft. Bliss National Cemetary on January 26, 2012 at 11:00 am.
