Mary A. Acosta

Mary A. Acosta, born August 1, 1925 in Fresno, Ca. passed away Monday, November 28, 2011 at home with her daughters by her side. She devoted her life to her children and grandchildren. She was the pillar that held the family together and taught us all to be respectful, generous and loving. By her example we learned how to have faith. God blessed us with such a wonderful mother and grandmother. She was retired from Farah Mfg. and the Ysleta Independent School District. Preceded in death by her husband, Jose Antonio Acosta Sr., brothers; Jose and Enrique Alvidres, and sister; Elia Benitez. She is survived by her children; Irene Mendoza (Rick), Jose Antonio (Tony) Acosta Jr., and Corrine A Imai. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren, Vanessa Yarusso (Douglas), Veronica Truelove (Fred), Richard Mendoza, Michael Anthony Imai, Erica Acevedo (Rafael), Yvette Vasquez (Chris), Jose Antonio (Tony) Acosta II and Alejandra Acosta, and 8 great-grandchildren; Doug, Kalianna, Noah, Natalya, Tayen, Rylee, Milan, and Tony. Special thanks to Dr Teresa Reed, Place of Life Adult Foster Home, La Mariposa Hospice, Hospice El Paso and her loving Caregiver, Olga Patricia Medrano. Vigil will be at 11 am Friday, December 3, 2011 with a Memorial Mass at 12:30 pm Friday, December 2, 2011 at St. Raphael Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Fort Bliss National Cemetery. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home-East.
