Martha Simons Nearing

Martha Louella Simons Nearing passed away peacefully on march 11, 2025, in El Paso, Texas. She was born January 17, 1941 in Bradford Pennsylvania, and graduated from Bradford Area High School in 1959.

Martha moved to El Paso, Texas in 1962, where she would build a life filled with love, adventure, and many cherished memories. She enjoyed her youth as a Girl Scout, loved running away to the mountain in Ruidoso, New Mexico, loved planting flower, and especially treasured spending time with her family.

Martha is preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Ida (Tyger) Simons, her husband, Dennis Nearing, her brother, Thomas Simons, as well as her grandson, Shane, and great-grandson, Xander.

She is survived be her brothers: John Simons (Ginger) of El Paso, and Fred Simons of Bradford. She also leaves behind her three children: Robin, Paul, and Stephanie. In addition, Martha is survived by her grandchildren Wesley, Kaygan, and Kyle; David and Jeremy; Cheyanne and Shannon. Plus her great-grandchildren; Bianca, McKenzie, Zayden, Ryland, Giovanni, and Oryn, along with many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Martha's kindness, warmth, and loving spirit will be deeply miss by all who knew her. Her sparkle and shine legacy lives on in the hearts of her family and friends.

Visitation will be from 4:00 - 8:00pm with a Prayer Service to begin at 6:00pm on Wednesday, March  19, 2025 at Sunset Funeral Home - Northeast, 4631 Hondo Pass Dr.
