Martha O. Fierro

December 2, 1977 — January 14, 2019

It is with great sadness that the family of Martha Oralia Fierro announces her passing on January 14th, 2019 peacefully at her home surrounded by her family. Martha will be lovingly remembered by her children Nazareth (19), Nidia (10), Diego (9), and her mother Andrea. Martha will also be fondly remembered by her father Jorge, stepfather Jesus, siblings: Alex, Luis, Yessenia, Jacob, Ronald, Laura, and Rhonda, and the extended Border Patrol Family. She was the eldest of her siblings and always nourished people around her with love, comfort and laughter. Martha always made sure to place her family first with upmost importance. This family oriented character that she displayed was evident in the time she would take to care for her children, mother, siblings, nieces and nephew. She would always take time to make sure everyone was okay or take care of them when it was needed. Martha was a strong pillar within her family and they will all strive to be more like her and maintain the strong family bonds that she always upkept. She was born on December 2nd, 1977, in El Paso, TX. She was a 1996 graduate of Austin High School. She became a proud agent for the United States Customs and Border Protection Agency in 2002. Martha Fierro excelled and became a Supervisory Border Patrol Agent with the United States Border Patrol in Clint, Texas in 2010. She took her title and duty as a supervisor seriously and put all her heart into ensuring that those under her leadership knew their worth. Martha’s dedication to the Border Patrol was evident in her work ethic. She threw herself into her assignment with open arms and always gave 100 %. There was nothing she couldn’t do. Martha had a very strong work ethic, even through her battle with her illness, Martha would frequently message her closest co-workers discussing how excited she was to get stronger to be able to get back to work. That is the type of worker and person she was. Although Martha was a supervisor and oversaw several units, she was a friend to many. She gained the respect and admiration of all who worked with her. Martha was someone the agents could trust and approach with anything from work related issues to personal problems. She was always willing to help her fellow agents in any way that she could. Martha could always be counted on to have her agents’ backs. She made the station feel like home when she would cook a delicious meal for her unit. Martha’s passing will leave a void in so many at the Clint Station, the Douglas Station, and the Border Patrol as a whole. Her positivity, smile, sense of humor, and friendship will be greatly missed. HONOR FIRST Martha always demonstrated her strong will, optimism, and caring nature in everything she did. She was very well respected by family, friends, and coworkers alike. It didn’t matter who it was, she always displayed a motherly role. A Prayer Service will be held on Sunday, January 20th, from 5 pm to 9 pm, Rosary/Vigil at 7 pm at Sunset Funeral Homes Americas, 9521 North Loop, El Paso, TX 79907.
