Zalace
Our beloved wife, mother, sister, and friend, Marta Patricia Zalace, went before us to glorify God in the heavenly choirs on August 22, 2008.
She was a loving aunt and mentor to all her nieces and nephews and a source of inspiration to her many students, colleagues, and friends.
We will sorely miss her tales and adventures of her travels, teaching career, singing career, and family life.
Born October 13, 1956, Marta was a lifelong resident of El Paso, serving as a teacher in the Socorro School District for 24 years, from 1981 until illness forced her to retire in the spring of 2005, being chosen “Teacher of the Year” several times at different campuses. She is survived by her husband Daniel; daughter Francis; son Devin; granddaughters Daniella and Gwendolynn; sisters Elizabeth Martinez, Margarita Vallazza, and Jacqueline Hernandez; her nieces Michelle, Cynthia, Kerin, Sandy, and Renata; her nephew Michael; her great nieces Lisa, Alexis, Morgan, Brittany, Jessica, and Samantha; her great nephews Matthew, Zachary, Jason, Michael, Christopher, Brian, Brendan, and Giancarlo; other extended family members, members of her musical family, and many treasured friends. Memorial Service will be at 12 noon Saturday, August 30, 2008 at The First Presbyterian Church of El Paso located at 1340 Murchison Drive, El Paso, Texas 79902. Music will be 15 minutes prior to service. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home-East. Please visit on line register book at www.sunsetfuneralhomes.net.
