Marshall Hendryx died on March 18th at the age of 89 in El Paso, Texas. He graduated from Lubbock High School in 1935 and Texas Tech University in 1950. Marshall served in the Army from 1936-1939 spending time in the Philippines. He served a second term in the US Army Air Force from 1942-1946. After leaving the service he worked for American Airlines, an oil company and managed a service station before retiring in 1984. Marshall is survived by his wife, Connor Charlene, their five children and their spouses: Charles M. Hendryx and wife Ruth Hatcher, Honolulu, HI; Don J. Hendryx, Roundrock, TX; Joel T. Hendryx and wife Elsa, El Paso, TX; Sara E. Moeck and husband Robert, Duluth, GA, and Mary C. Ward and husband Bill Troxler, Flower Mound, TX, 15 grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. Visitation will be on Monday, March 24 from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at Sunset Funeral Home-East, 750 N. Carolina Dr. A memorial service will be held at the same location on Tuesday, March 25, 2008 at 9:45 A.M. Marshall will be buried with honors at Fort Bliss National Cemetery immediately following the memorial service.
