Bishop Mark G. Dominguez (April 25, 1953 - May 2, 2017) went to be with our Lord on Tuesday, May 2, 2017. He was the Twelfth Supervisor Bishop (2011-2017) of the New Mexico District of the Apostolic Assembly.
He was born on April 25, 1953 in San Ignacio, State of Chihuahua, Mexico to Salvador Domínguez and María García. His parents moved to Vado, New Mexico in 1954 and he graduated from Gadsden High School in 1971. He went on to marry his high school sweetheart, Helen Gutierrez on April 28, 1973. He graduated from Barber College in 1973 and worked as a Professional Master Barber and owner/operator of California Concepts.
In 1979, God called Mark Dominguez to the ministry and he was ordained at the tender age 26. Seven years after his ordination, he was appointed Pastor of a congregation in Anthony, New Mexico. Under his care, the church prospered and grew. Under his supervision, he discipled ministers who grew to become flourishing pastors that now oversee thriving churches. Bishop Dominguez was a beloved pastor for thirty-six years; he served on the District board for twenty-five years before he was elected Bishop of the District of New Mexico for six years. His love for God and for God's people will forever live on because of the lives he touched who will continue to cultivate his legacy.
