Marion G. McCarthy

Marion G. McCarthy, age 92 was born in Caribou, Maine on December 27, 1914, the daughter of Lillian E. Caulkins and Arthur L. Carter. She left this life on November 10, 2007 and went to join our Lord; she was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. She touched the hearts of many with her warm and beautiful spirit and will be missed by all who were blessed to know her. She was educated in Caribou local schools and graduated from Caribou H.S. in 1933. She married Harry G. McCarthy in 1936. And was employed as both a clerk and manager of Goodwill Stores in Lewiston and Bath, Maine from 1965-1976. She managed the BD Store in the Lewiston Mall from 1977 until her retirement in 1991. She lived in Caribou, Bangor, and Bath, and settled in Lewiston from 1953-1999. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Church. She has been a resident of El Paso, Texas from 1999 until present. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lillian & Arthur, and her husband, Harry McCarthy in 1965, her son, Gordon McCarthy in 1979, and her brother, Hubert Carter in 2007. She is survived by a daughter, Donna Schlenker (Clarence) of El Paso, TX, a son, Terry McCarthy (Denise) of Lewiston, ME, a daughter-in-law, Veronica Sawyer (Thomas) of Farmington, ME, three sister-in-laws, Eunice Carter of Vasselboro, ME, Beatrice McCarthy of Old Town, ME and Doreen McCarthy of Caribou, ME. She is loved and cherished by seven grandchildren, Bonnie, Lauri, Tammy, Christopher. Kathy, Amy and Jenner. She had ten great-grandchildren; Shayne, Lynsey, Kali, Brady, Courtney, Caitlyn, Elle, Rowen, Isabel, & Izack. She also cherished many nieces and nephews. A brief visitation will be at Sunset Funeral Home-Northeast on Hondo Pass on Tuesday, November 13, 2007 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Funeral Arrangements will be at Fortin Funeral Home in Lewiston, ME. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Patrick’s Chapel. Interment following at St. Peters Cemetery in the family plot.
