Marion V. McAuley

Our beloved mother Marion McAuley passed away on Sept. 11, 2012 at the age of 87. She was born in Niagara Falls, NY to Ella and Donald Scheurich. She is survived by her children Linda (Don) Hansard, Dawn McAuley, Mary (Karl) Beutner, Mac (LynnRae) McAuley, Tim (Karen) McAuley, Danny (Margaret) McAuley, 16 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years Maurice McAuley and son Dr. Michael McAuley. She lived in El Paso for 47 years and was known to many as a loving and generous person who gave freely of her time, talents and money to help anyone that she knew to be in need. She worked as a cook for the El Paso Independent School District and after she retired she volunteered at the Crisis Center Discovery Shop. She was a long time member of the Veteran's Park Senior Center arts and crafts club, where she had many dear friends. For many years she enjoyed decorating beautiful and unique cakes for people all over the El Paso area. The last few years of her life she lived at Serenity House. The family would like to thank Susan Hord, RN and all the staff there for their kind and compassionate care of our mother. Visitation will be at Sunset Funeral Home, 4631 Hondo Pass on Sunday, Sept 16, 2012 at 5 PM with a Rosary at 7 PM. A funeral mass will be held at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church on Monday, Sept 17, 2012 at 9:15 with internment to follow at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery.
