Mario Medina

Mario Medina Sr, 49, passed away on April 22,2023.

Mario Medina was born in Juarez, Mexico on June 04, 1973, to Samuel and Maria Medina. He graduated from Irvin High School in El Paso, Texas and enlisted to serve in the United States Marine Corps. In 1995, Mario would marry the love of his life, Sylvia Medina.

Mario worked for the United States Marine Corps for 22 years and retired from 29 Palms Marine Base with the rank of Gunnery Sergeant.  He continued to work as a court reporter for the United States Air Force and the Department of Defense. Mario loved to travel, play bass guitar, find new beer, and the San Diego Chargers.

Mario leaves his wife of 28 years Sylvia Patricia Medina, sons Gregory and Mario Medina Jr., and daughter; Marissa Medina. His siblings are Lorenzo Medina, Samuel Jr. Medina, and Cynthia Medina.

Visitation will be from 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM, with a Rosary at 6:00 PM on Wednesday, May 03, 2023 at Sunset Funeral Homes- Northeast, 4631 Hondo Pass. Funeral Mass will begin at  12:00 PM on Thursday, May 04, 2023 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church 3729 Hueco.
