Mario Longo-Reyes was born on February 23, 1948 in Comerio, Puerto Rico. After graduating High School, Mario was drafted into the United States Army. Upon completion of his initial enlistment, he married the woman he would spend the rest of his life with. Mario returned to the Army in 1976 and spent the remainder of his life wearing a uniform for his nation. After retiring from the Army, he would spend the rest of his time serving with the U.S. Customs and Border Protection. Mario took great pride in his uniform and the men who stood next to him. Those who knew him well know that he was hard but fair. Mario cared deeply about soldiers and their families. He leaves behind a wife, daughter, son and grandson, St. Peter needs to brace himself. Graveside Services are at 11:00 am, Tuesday, October 14, 2008 at Fort Bliss National Cemetery. Interment will follow with full Military Honors at Fort Bliss National Cemetery.
