Mario Frias

The family of Mario Frias Sr. of Chaparral, New Mexico, is saddened to announce his passing on August 21, 2021, at the age of 58 years. Mario Frias Sr. was predeceased by his loving wife, Noemi Frias, of 37 years, his brother, Kiki, and his sister, Sandra. He will be lovingly remembered by his children: Anthony (Ivy), Abren (Samantha), Mario Jr., Amy, and Melissa (Rudy); grandchildren: Anthony Jr. (Judy), Xavier (Getsemani), Abren Jr. (Gabrielle), Angel (Daniel), Noe, Makenna, Elias, Ivan, Kolle, Melanie, Calen, Nolen, Ezrah, Minka, Emalynn, and Aiden; great grandchildren: Anthony III, Arielle, Nathaniel, Arisbeth, and Daniel Jr.; brothers and sisters: Elvia, Delia, Sammy, Eddie, Ray and Bernie, as well as numerous other relatives and friends. What can we say about our father? He was a very funny man. The mornings, getting ready to go visit him, were a wonder as to how the day would go. Melissa would tell him, “Ya, that’s enough,” because of how much he would make her laugh with the littlest jokes from how he wanted his burritos made to “guess what I seen on Face Book”, it was all put into a joke. The stress of the countless amounts of hospital visits, dialysis, and appointments he had to attend daily, weekly, and monthly, never showed because of all the happiness and joy he chose to show throughout the day. Even with the stress of being on diets, taking medications, or struggling to change, shower, or even tie his shoe, no one would ever notice the obstacles he faced. But EVERYONE could tell you the stories he had, those lessons in disguise. Everything he said you could benefit from. He was a very wise man. Dad wanted everything done a certain way, his way, but it was always the best, most reliable way to teach us. Any other way wouldn’t last or was too difficult or too stressful. And, if you just listened, the job would get done fast and sufficiently. Our father would tell each of us kids, “See, this is why God hasn’t taken me yet, because there’s still too much to teach you guys. The day he decides to take me home would be because my job’s done. You guys would be smart enough and able to take care of yourselves.” Our father is resting now. No pain, no diets, no complications, just peace. He lived a joyful, happy life. He was awaiting the day to be reunited with our mother, his parents, his brother, his sister, his best friend, and all his loved ones that have passed. He always said how proud he was of all of us, including his grandchildren and great grandchildren. His only regret was not visiting everyone as much as he wanted to. But he always said how much he loved them and missed them. He didn’t prepare us for the day he would be missed so dearly, but we thank our father for every lesson, every joke, and every hand he gave to us. They will always be appreciated and passed on. Rest peacefully.
