Marietta Zito Garcia, (La Italiana) 86, born in Crotone , Italy on July 21, 1925, passed on June 15, 2012. She came to the USA in 1947, at the age of 22, she married an American soldier and left her home, her parents and ten siblings, to follow the man she loved. She was preceded in death by her father Francisco Zito, mother Giulia Giuseppina, her husband, Juan Garcia, her brothers, Pepino, Antonio and Gregorio and Attilio Zito, her sisters Gaitania, Elena and Amalia. She is survived by two sisters, Adelina Bahigigagli Felicetta Bonanomi and brother, Fernando Zito, her five daughters Juanita Macias, Gloria Rivas, Josephine Piseno, Adelina Garcia and Goconda Olivas (Jokey), 11 grandchildren, David Reveles, Susan Reveles, Nora-Lisa Rivera, Salvador Rivas, Ernesto Rivas, Ivonne Rodrigues, Roberto Piseno, Johnny Piseno, Cristina G. Hernandez, Genevieve Ramos, and Joe Olivas Jr. and 21 great- grandchildren. When she came to this country she couldn’t speak a word of English nor Spanish but soon she became fluent in both. She worked as a sales person at Border Tabacco Co. for many years. She was married for 59 years. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, kind and giving of herself always. She was the greatest cook. Mom we miss you already, and love you with all our hearts. Arrivederci mamma! We’ll see you when the Lord calls us. Pallbearers; David Reveles, Salvador Rivas, Ernesto Rivas, Roberto Piseno, Johnny Piseno, Joe Olivas Jr., Johnny Rene Piseno, and Derek Reveles. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Vigil at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at Sunset Funeral Home-Americas. Funeral Mass will be said at 9:30 a.m. (time-pending). Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at Cristo Rey Catholic Church 8011 Williamette Ave (Williamette at Lafayette ). Interment will follow at follow at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery .
