Mariellyn Smagur

Mariellyn Smagur August 7, 1947 – December 30, 2012 Mariellyn Smagur born August 7, 1947 in Chicago, Illinois, was an El Paso Transplant in 1960 where she met and married her husband Gerald Smagur, also a Chicago native. They married in 1963 and moved back to Chicago. But once the sand got in their feet, they couldn’t stay away and moved back to El Paso in 1970 where they have lived ever since. Mariellyn was the best mom a kid could want and kept her family together through hard times with her faith and helped to raise her 3 grandchildren. She will be missed greatly. Mariellyn Smagur is survived by her husband of 49 years Gerald Smagur, siblings Donna Dupage, Johnny Hakes, Linda Shimel, her two children Michael Smagur, Sandra Kneeskern, son-in-law William Kneeskern, and three precious grandchildren Elizabeth, Christopher, and Michael Kneeskern. Visitation will be from 3:00-6:00pm, Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at Sunset Funeral Home Northeast. Interment will begin at 1:00pm, Wednesday, January 9, 213 at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
