Mariano P. Alatorre born May 4, 1926 to Pura Padilla and Mariano Alatorre was a Mexican citizen until his naturalization via his service in the American Air Force during WWII in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater. Mariano would work for the United States Postal Office and then venture into self-employment exploring many different avenues such as the brick, vending machine, and pay phone industry. He is predeceased by both his sons Mario and Edward Alatorre. Left to treasure his memories are his children Mariano Alatorre, Jr., Eileen, Terry, Adrianna, and Alexandra Alatorre. His grandchildren are Mario Alatorre Jr, Michael Alatorre, Ashley Morales, Ryan, and Adelina Pate. Mariano died on August 10, 2008 at his home surrounded by his family. A visitation for Mariano will be held from 5:00–8:00 pm on Wednesday, August, 13, 2008 at Sunset Funeral Homes-West, Chapel of Remembrance located at of 480 N. Resler. Following visitation is the 7:00 pm vigil. Funeral Services will be held at St. Luke’s Catholic Church located at 930 E. Redd on Thursday, August 14, 2008 at 12:00 pm followed by interment at Fort Bliss National Cemetery at 1:30 pm. We ask you to join us in remembrance of our father, grandfather, and brother.
