Maria Villanueva

Maria Villanueva, 72, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 2, 2021, surrounded by her loved ones. Maria was born in Cd. Juarez, Mexico on April 18, 1949. Maria was preceded in death by her mother Tula Duran, eldest daughter Maria “Chata” Herrera, sister Gloria Villareal, and brother Juan Duran. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Juan Villanueva, daughters, Patricia Mitchell, Sylvia High, Monica Villanueva, Claudia Villanueva, and sons Juan Villanueva, Cruz Villanueva, and Enrique Villanueva, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren; sisters; Amalia Robledo and Isela Saldana, brothers; Geronimo Duran and Rodolfo Duran who will forever cherish her memories. Maria enjoyed spending time with her family, scratching lottery tickets, and making people laugh. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. “Your life was a blessing, your memory a treasure, you are loved beyond words, and will be missed beyond measure”. Visitation will be on Friday, May 7, 2021 from 1:00 – 4:00 P.M. with Rosary at 2:00 P.M. at Sunset Funeral Homes – Northeast, 4631 Hondo Pass. Funeral Mass will be on Saturday, May 8, 2021 at 9:00 A.M. at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 9025 Diana Dr. Committal Service will be on Saturday, May 8, 2021 at 10:30 A.M. at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, 4848 Alps.
