"Honor her for all that her hands have done, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.” Proverbs 31:31
On Saturday, November 25, 2023, at the age of 61, our beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend went home to her eternal resting place where she was received by her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was born in El Paso, Texas on September 23rd, 1962. Teresa is survived by her husband Victor Hernandez and her three children: David Hernandez, Christina Hernandez, and April Hernandez. She is also survived by her siblings Raymond Zambrano (Rachel), Anthony Zambrano (Brigida Iacono), Michael Zambrano (Alisha), Anna Zambrano and Rebecca Morales. Her brothers and sisters in law Lorenzo Hernandez (Eileen), Lupe McCoy (John), Hilda Leyva (Manny), Graciela Arredondo (Joe), Joe Hernandez and Delia Rosales (Mike). She is survived by her dearest nieces and nephews: Jackie, Mary, Mikey, Samantha, Emilia, Megan, Sharon, Ray, Anita, Ernie, Vicky, Cathy, Jessica, Jaqui, Valerie, Melissa, Joey, Gabriel, Melody, and Brenda. And her best friends Virginia Sepulveda (Dennis) and Melissa Navarro. She is preceded in death by her parents Raymond Zambrano, Alicia Zambrano, and her niece Christin Marie Zambrano.
Teresa attended St. Pius X school through 8th grade and later graduated from Burges High School in 1981. She worked at Texas Gas Service for many years before transitioning to Zavala Elementary as a PEIMS clerk until her death.
Teresa loved being involved in her church and giving back to her community. She volunteered at outreach events with Rising Above Outreach and as a Kids’ Church minister at Abundant Living Faith Center for many years.
She was as sweet as can be. A woman of prayer who was gracious, kind and loving to everyone she encountered. She believed the best in everyone. Teresa endured life’s challenges with a quiet strength – always caring for others above herself. Her actions were kind, her intentions pure, her heart faithful. She was a true example of the love of Jesus. Her goodness will always be cherished and remembered, and she will be dearly missed.
We invite everyone who knew her to join us in celebration and gratitude of her life.
