Maria T. Rubalcava

Rubalcava, Maria Theresa Tellez (Techita”) was called by our lord on Tuesday, September 4, 2012. She was surrounded by her family. She was born in El Paso, Texas on August 17, 1931 and had lived most of her life here. She has spent stints in New Mexico, Georgia, Montana and in South America following her husbands work. Teresita was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed softball in her youth and bowling, but bingo was by far her favorite. She would often say, “ya merito” or “me faltaba uno”. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jose A. and Aurora Tellez, her daughter-in-law Liz Rubalcava, her son Martin, her siblings, Jose, Arturo and Alicia. She is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Julio Roberto Rubalcava Sr. her children; Julio Roberto Jr., Rick (Linda); Aurora (Ro); Barbara (Frank); Laura (+Martin); 11 grandchildren , and 7 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers; Tommy (Vera) and Alberto (Josie). Special thanks to her long time caregiver, Lourdes as well as to Mariposa Hospice and Vida Bella for the care and support they provided. Visitation will be from 5-9 pm Thursday, September 6, 2012 with a Vigil 7 pm at Sunset Funeral Home-East. Funeral Mass will be at 8:30 am Friday, September 7, 2012 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Fort Bliss National Cemetery. Service entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home-East.
