Maria Romo

Maria Romo (or “Mary,” as she was known to many), age 81, passed away Friday, September 30, 2011, surrounded by her loving family. She was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother, survived by her husband, Rodolfo; sons, Rodolfo Jr. of El Paso, Texas, and Carlos of Artesia, N.M.; daughters, Susan of Santa Barbara, Calif., and Laura of Emeryville, Calif.; daughters-in-law, Lourdes and Leticia; Susan’s partner, Matthew Parker; grandchildren, Charles, Rodolfo III, Julian, Adrian, Bianca and Christian; sister, Amparo M. Lopez; and many dear friends and relatives, among them Marta Fonseca and Diana Grigsby. Mary’s family is deeply grateful for the care and support provided by her doctors, Harvey Greenberg and Max Peralta; the staff and nurses at the Infusion Center at Providence Memorial Hospital, including Perry, Aurora, Corie, Betsy, Monica, Julie and Charley; her caregiver, Mina Granados; home care nurse, Armando Sosa; lymphedema therapist Diana Ramirez and the staff and nurses of La Mariposa Hospice at Providence. Visitation will be held at Sunset Funeral Home-West on Tuesday, October 4, 2011, from 5-7 p.m. A Memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, October 5, 2011, at Queen of Peace Catholic Church.
