Maria Luisa Rodriguez

Maria Luisa Rodriguez, age 81, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 7. Her husband, Angel and her brother, Alejandro Carbajal, preceded her in death. Her daughter, Rosa Gomez, her son, Manuel, 7 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren survive her. Maria had retired from the Popular Dry Goods department store after 35 years of faithful service. Maria was a past president of the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW Post 8782. In the last years of her life she looked forward to Thursdays. It was that day that she would have her hair and nails done. Have lunch at the Lunch Box, and then go grocery shopping to buy her sugar-free candy which she kept in her sock drawer. Maria touched many lives and taught her family important life lessons. She knew she was loved; we knew she loved us, and we miss her already. Visitation will be from 4-9 pm on Wednesday, March 10. 2010 with a Prayer Service at 7 pm at Sunset Funeral Home-East. Funeral Service will be at 10 am Thursday March 11, 2010 at Sunset Funeral Home-East. Interment will follow at Fort Bliss National Cemetery. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home-East
