Maria D. Prieto

Maria "Jessie" Prieto passed away on August 23, 2020, at Banner Estrella Medical Center, Phoenix, Arizona. She was the widow of Frank Prieto. They shared 55 years of marriage together. Jessie was born in Mexico and raised in El Paso, Texas. She was the daughter of Lorenzo and Teresa Macias. She is a graduate of Jefferson High School, class of 1963. She was a key punch operator in the 1960s and 70s. Later becoming a vocational educational teacher. She was a member of Saint John Vianney Catholic Church in Arizona. Mom could never pass up a good yard sale! She also enjoyed cooking and sharing her meals with others. She will be remembered for her love of the Holy Family, her creative and bubbly disposition as well as enthusiasm for life! She enjoyed spending time with family, especially her grandchildren. She is survived by her children, Frank (Cristina), Patsy (Rick), Jerry (Rachel), Robert (Gina), six grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Frank and her grandson Jacobe. Due to COVID restrictions, Ft. Bliss National Cemetery will not allow any flowers at the gravesite. Visitation 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM with Rosary at 10:00 AM and Scripture Service at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, September 1, 2020 at Sunset Funeral Homes- East, 750 N. Carolina. Committal Service will follow at 1:00 PM at Fort Bliss National Cemetery.
