Maria Ofelia Salazar

Maria Ofelia Salazar, 72, entered into eternal rest on January 22, 2025 in El Paso, TX. Maria was a proud graduate of Ysleta High School and she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Education at The University of Texas at El Paso. For 32 years of her career Maria taught her beloved Kindergarteners. Maria is survived by her beloved husband, Edward G. Salazar and sister, Eileen Cruz Escamilla. Also left to cherish her memory are her niece and nephews, Melodie Escamilla, Bill Paul Cruz and Robbie Escamilla along with various other family members. Maria is preceded in death by her son, Samuel G. Salazar; parents, Samuel Cruz and Manuela Gonzalez and sister, Gabriela Cruz. Maria Ofelia was very loved and will be dearly missed. 

Visitation will be held Tuesday, February 4, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Sunset Funeral Home-Americas, 9521 North Loop Dr., El Paso, TX 79907 with a Rosary starting at 7:00 PM. Funeral Mass will be Wednesday, February 5, 2025 at 10:00 am at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church, 8600 Winchester Rd, El Paso, TX 79907. Interment to follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery, 401 S Zaragoza Rd., El Paso, TX 79907.
