Maria Luisa Garcia, 92, passed away on July 16, 2024. Maria Luisa was born in Comanja de Corona, Jalisco on June 10, 1932. She lived in Cd. Juarez, but lived most of her life in El Paso, Texas. She graduated from Lydia Patterson Institute. Maria Luisa was an Avon sales representative for over fifty years.
Maria Luisa was preceded in death by her husband, Carlos; her brothers Luis and Jesus Roldan, her sisters Lorenza, Teresa, and Paula and, just recently, her oldest sister Aurora. She has three daughters, Lourdes Diaz (Sabino), Elizabeth Acosta (Arturo), and Angelica Hughes (Frank), and three sons Alex, Carlos Jr., and Elias Alonso✝. She also leaves behind her beloved sister Guadalupe, and five grandchildren Richie and Michael (Charlie) Oseguera, Hector and Isaac Mendoza, Isabel Acosta, and one great granddaughter, Anjelina Mendoza.
Maria Luisa enjoyed life and loved to dance at parties and play the slots at the casino. She was also a devout Catholic and a Guadalupana for many years. She was a beautiful, lively soul who will be greatly missed by her friends and her many nieces and nephews. We are comforted that she has joined her husband, son, and the rest of our heavenly family.
Visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a Rosary at 6:00 PM, Monday, July 22, 2024 at Sunset Funeral Homes - East, 750 N. Carolina. Funeral Mass will be held at 12:30 PM, Tuesday, July 23, 2024 at St. Paul Catholic Church, 7424 Mimosa. Interment will follow at 2:00 PM at Evergreen East Cemetery, 12400 Montana.
