Maria Auxiliadora Ling Sanderson She was a wife, mother, caregiver, teacher, advisor, guide and confidante. She was an educator for more than forty years, touching the lives of so many children and adults. By sharing her love of reading and of books, by making stories come to life, she opened worlds of possibilities. By imparting her wisdom and observations, she helped guide many in the field of education. Through her nurturing care, her children have experienced the love of learning, indeed a love she herself possessed even to her last day. On Tuesday, 4th of September, 2007 God collected his Jewel, leaving us with the warm memories of joy, love and laughter. She is survived by James, her husband of 52 years, her son James Jr., daughter Stephanie, 8 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Visitation will be from 4 until 9 pm Friday, September 7, 2007 with a vigil at 7 pm at Sunset Funeral Home-East; located at 750 N. Carolina Drive. Funeral Mass will be at 11 am on Saturday, September 8, 2007 at St. Raphael’s Catholic Church; located at 2301 Zanzibar. Inurnment will take place at Our Lady of the Atonement in San Antonio, Texas.
