Maria Luisa "Licha" Antunez

Maria Luisa "Licha" Antunez, 84, passed away on Thursday, July 18, 2013. Maria Luisa was born on November 18, 1928 to Juan N. Torres and Andrea Acosta de Nieves in Kansas City, Missouri. She worked at Providence Memorial Hospital for over 35 years. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed entertaining family and friends with her wonderful cooking. She also enjoyed playing and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchild. She is preceded in death by her parents Juan N. Torres and Andrea Acosta de Nieves. Surviving her are her husband, Fidencio "Mingo" Antunez; son, Oscar Antunez, daughter, Rosa Antunez; grandaughters: Gina Marie and Arissa; great grandaughter, Nevaeh; and numerous nieces and nephews. I know you are up in heaven and I hope you realize how much you are loved by all those you left behind. Visitation will be from 4-9 p.m. on Monday, July 22, 2013 with a Vigil at 7:30 p.m. at Sunset Funeral Home East, 750 N. Carolina Dr. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:15 a.m., Tuesday, July 23, 2013 at St. Patrick Catholic Cathedral, 1118 N. Mesa. Interment will follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home-East.
