Maria De Jesus Garcia

Maria de Jesus Garcia, 92, passed away peacefully on February 1, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother, sister, friend and god mother to so many children. She was the heart of this family and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her sister, Laura Munoz; 7 children, daughters: Rosa Lydia Herrera, Teresa Gallardo (Robert), Josefina Galvez (Juan Antonio), and Cruz Elena Gandarilla (Rodolfo); sons: Jose Luis Garcia (Linda), Arturo Garcia (Natividad), and Ramon Garcia (Terry). She is preceded in death by her husband, Jose Luis Garcia; son, Ruben Garcia; mother, Ramona Mena and grandson, Michael Bustillos. Her legacy will live with her 19 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren. She was a member of the Catholic Church all her life, she worked at Farah Mfg Co for 30 years. The family would like to thank the staff at St. Teresa Nursing Home and CIMA Home Health for their wonderful care and support during this difficult time. Words cannot express our heartfelt gratitude. Visitation: 4:00 - 9:00 PM, Monday, February 5, 2018 at Sunset Funeral Home East, with a Rosary at 6pm. Mass of Resurrection will be said at 12 noon, Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at Santo Niño De Atocha Catholic Church, 210 S. Clark. Interment to follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery.
