Maria Elena Fernandez

Maria Elena Fernandez, 77, loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother went to our Lord on Thursday, November 8, 2012. She was born in Puebla, Puebla, Mexico and made El Paso, Texas her home. Her days were filled with tending her garden, cooking for her family and decorating her home. Mom you dedicated your life to caring for all of us. Your absence will be difficult for us, but we know you are at peace. We wait for the day that we will all be together again. Survived by sisters, Berta and Amparo; six children, Joe Fernandez, Yolanda Lugo, Mary McMahon, Patricia Macias, Cecilia Looney, and George Fernandez; eleven grandchildren, Kelly, Brian, Rebecca, Jordan, Gregory, Dante, Eric, Amanda, Andrea, Diego and Olivia; and two great grandchildren, Aidin and Evan. Be at rest once more, O my soul, for the Lord has been good to you. For you, O Lord, have delivered my soul from death, my eyes from tears, my feet from stumbling, that I may walk before the Lord in the land of the living. Ps. 116:7-9. Memorial Visitation: 5-8 pm. Vigil/Rosary: 7pm, Monday, November 12, 2012 at Sunset Funeral Home Northeast. Funeral Mass: 9am, Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Interment: Private.
