Maria C. Ervin

Maria Concepcion Padilla de Ervin passed away on March 15, 2011. She was born in Gomez Palacio, Durango. She was one of 8 children of Dr. Viterbo Padilla and Petra Castaneda de Padilla, only 5 of whom survived to adulthood. She completed her studies in Mexico to become a private accountant. She continued working as an accountant until her marriage. She moved to the area in July of 1956. She was married to James Edwin Ervin III on July 22, 1963. Mrs. Ervin was a wife, a mother and an executive sales director for Mary Kay Cosmetics. She was preceded in death by her brother, Raul Padilla and her sisters: Maria De Jesus Padilla and Maria Juana Padilla de Mena. She is survived by her daughter, Connie Eileen Sandoval; her son, James Edwin Ervin IV; her sister, Margarita Padilla de Spalloni; her nieces: Lourdes Osborne, Olga Padilla, Belinda McKay; and her nephews: Williberto Padilla, Fernando Padilla, Carlos Mena, Marco Spalloni, Alex Spalloni, Ugo Mena, and Aldo Mena. She was thrilled to become grandmother to Savanna, Diego, Rodrigo, James, and Edward and proudly bragged about them to all she knew. Mrs. Ervin was vigorous and active in her career until she suffered kidney failure at the end of December. She continued battling from that and the complications that it brought until the end. She will be sorely missed by her family, friends, directors and consultants. (Isaiah 40:31) . . .those who are hoping in Jehovah will regain power. They will mount up with wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary; they will walk and not tire out.” Visitation will be held from 5-9pm with a Vigil/Rosary to begin 7pm, Friday, March 18, 2011 at Sunset Funeral Home Northeast. Funeral Services will begin at 10am, Saturday, March 19, 2011 at Sunset Funeral Home Northeast. Interment will be at Restlawn Memorial Gardens where she will rest beside her husband of 26 years.
