Maria de Jesus Dickinson, 94, passed away on April 26, 2024. Maria was born in the heart of Mexico, Colotlan, Jalisco on August 26, 1929. At 7 years of age, Maria and her family moved to Zacatecas, Mexico where she eventually started a family and had 9 beautiful children. Wanting a better life, Maria moved to El Paso, Texas in 1967 where she married George Dickinson the following year.
Maria loved life, to include knitting, birds, her pets, and above all, traveling back and forth between Mexico and the United States to enjoy time with her friends and family. Her motto was, participate in life instead of just watching it pass you by.
Maria was preceded in death by her husband George Dickinson, her sons Francisco and Juventino, her daughters Lilia and Alicia, and her granddaughter Yvette. Maria is survived by her children Ofelia Perysian, Lilia Olmestead, Jaime Fernandez, Joel Fernandez and Rogelio Fernandez. Maria had 18 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren.
Maria amaba y disfrutaba la vida, incluyendo el tejido, sus pájaros, sus mascotas, y sobre todo, viajando entre México y los Estados Unidos para disfrutar el tiempo con su familia y sus amistades. Su lema era, participa en la vida en vez de verla pasar.
Maria es precedida en muerte por su esposo George Dickinson, sus hijos Francisco y Juventino, sus hijas Lilia y Alicia, y su nieta Yvette. Maria es sobrevivida por sus hijas Ofelia Perysian y Lilia Olmestead, y sus hijos Jaime Fernandez, Joel Fernandez, y Rogelio Fernandez. Maria tenía 18 nietos, 14 bisnietos, y 4 tataranietos.
