Maria M. Cuellar

Maria M. Cuellar, returned to Our Lord on August 4, 2021. She was born in El Paso, Texas on July 13, 1936, to the late Eliodoro and Josefina Martinez. Mary is preceded in death by husbands Ramiro Ramos and Frank Cuellar. Her brother Eliodoro “Leo” Martinez, and sister Carmen Kopler, both of Torrington, CT. Mary was a teacher at St. Mary’s Catholic School and Father Yermo’s before moving to San Antonio, Texas, her home for over 30 years. She worked at Southwest General Hospital until retirement. Mary’s greatest happiness was becoming a mother to Ramiro’s children and later a grandmother. She loved to travel visiting family and always cheered on her favorite team- the Spurs. Her devotion was to Sacred Heart, Our Lady of Fatima, and praying the rosary. Survivors include her sister, Josefina M. Bodder of El Paso, Texas including many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Visitation on Thursday, August 26, 2021 from 4:00 – 8:00 PM; Rosary at 6:00 PM at Sunset Funeral Homes- Northeast, 4631 Hondo Pass. Funeral Mass will take place at 10:00 AM, on Friday, August 27, 2021 at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 10000 Pheasant. Interment will take place in San Antonio, Texas.
