On November 4, 2022 Rose Castillo, loving wife of David Castillo and mother of two devoted sons, passed away to be with our Lord and Savior. Rose was a strong Christian who loved her church and her church family. She was 83 years old.
Rose graduated from Gadsden High School in 1958 and worked as a secretary and bookkeeper for several firms. She will be remembered as the ultimate giver who relished in giving of herself to help others. She once spent six months in Arizona to be with and take care of her grandson who was dealing with a serious health crisis. She also delighted in giving away her beautiful crafts to her friends and family. She was an accomplished quilter and could sew intricate pieces with ease. Friends and family cherish her gifts.
She also had a contagious laughter that could be triggered easily to the delight of everyone around her. She will be sorely missed because she was deeply loved.
Rose is survived by her husband David Castillo, her son Jay Montelongo, her grandchildren Nick Montelongo, Cassandra Montelongo, Zac Montelongo, Soffia Montelongo, her great granddaughter Lily Suggs, her daughter-in-law Candace Montelongo, her sisters Betty Bustamante, Blanche Acuna and her yappy dog Booboo.
She is preceded in death by her loving son, Luke Montelongo, her parents Joe and Valentina Arteaga, her sisters Alvina Castillo, Dora Arteaga and her brother Joseph Arteaga.
