Maria Elena Caraveo

In the early morning od December 17, 2022 Maria Elena Caraveo went to be with her heavenly father after enduring cancer. She was surrounded by her loved ones at her home in El Paso, Texas. She was 82 years old.

Maria Elena was born June 17 1940 in Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico. She was the daughter of Juanita and Camilo Mendoza. Her siblings include brothers Juan Camilo Mendoza, Francisco Mendoza, Victor Hugo Mendoza and Jesus Eugenio Mendoza, and sisters Evanjelina Escorza, Manuela Miramontes, Petra Mendoza, and Josefina Mendoza.

Maria Elena Caraveo met the love of her life, Jose Caraveo, in Juarez and they married in 1960. Together, they had six children, Lorena Montes, Jose Antonio Caraveo, Raul Caraveo, Nora Elena Caraveo, Carlos Alberto Caraveo, and Karina Gudina.

Her grandchildren are Michael Montes, Meaghan Read, Madeline Hernandez, and Michelle Vasquez; Giovani Caraveo, Savannah Caraveo and Andree Caraveo; Karyme Caraveo and Mabel Caraveo; Ibn Caraveo, Christopher Caraveo, Gilberto Caraveo and Storm Olmstead; Breeana Caraveo and Carlee Caraveo; Anthony Caraveo, Josue Cuauhtémoc Gudina and Jonah Gudina.

Her great grandchildren are Vincent Montes, Marlena Vasquez, and Ximena Hernandez.

Maria Elena’s strong faith in God gave her the foundation to be the devoted wife, mother, and grandmother she was known to be.

Her legacy continues through her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
