Margaret Irene Lyman (Marge) peacefully passed from this life on December 9, 2007 in her daughter’s home in La Union, New Mexico. She is now dwelling with the Angels and Our Lord Jesus Christ in Heaven. She was born Margaret Irene Toth on August 11, 1925 in Hammond, Indiana to Hungarian immigrant parent’s, in a family where only the Hungarian language was spoken. Marge was a child during the Great Depression and came of age during World War II. After graduation from high school, she worked with American Airlines in Chicago and there met her future husband, Morgan Lyman. The couple moved to El Paso in the early 1950’s. Two children were born of their union: Morgan (Chip) Lyman and Tommie Deane Lyman. Margaret’s family was her purpose. There were highs and lows, yet she met the difficulties with perseverance and entertained the joys with gusto. Especially during her later years, when she suffered with aliments, she did not complain, but rather brought joy to all those around her with her kindness and love. She will be dearly missed by many. She was preceded in death by her husband, Morgan, and niece, Dolores Moody. Her survivors include her daughter, Tommie, with her husband Sean, grandchildren Kenzie, Kayla and Clara Caruthers and her son, Chip, his wife, Anne, with grandchildren Patience, Abe and Ariana Lyman. Services were held at graveside. The family asks, in lieu of flowers that donations be made to Mesilla Valley Hospice, which was so wonderful throughout this process. Peace be with you, Grandma. We love you.
