Marcy was born on January 26, 1950 and entered her eternal rest December 10, 2023. She was raised on a cotton farm near Lubbock, TX. Marcy was a very accomplished lady with a variety of interests and talents. She obtained her college degree at Texas Tech University and co-founded a successful mortgage brokerage company. As an avid reader (read 65 books one particular year) she could carry on an intelligent conversation on many subjects. She loved to travel and explore visiting faraway places such as Jordan (a biblical archaeological dig), Japan, England, Wales, Spain, Italy as well as numerous spots in the US including Alaska and Hawaii. She would say “I have to get my toes in the sand” and enjoyed vacationing at Pismo Beach, California. But her most loved destination was the cabin in Alto, NM where the wildlife sightings were daily, and the bull elk bugles were music to her ears. She shared her abundant love utilizing her culinary artistry providing the most wonderful meals for her family and friends.
Marcy is survived by her husband of 45 years Bart Oglesby of Santa Teresa, NM, her three children Martha King of League City, TX, Barton Oglesby of Flower Mound, TX and Heather (Jeremy) Cuthbertson of El Paso, TX. Also surviving are her stepmom Anna Brooke of the family farm in Wolfforth, TX, three sisters, Debbie (Bobby) Hobgood, Tina (Mike) Wright, Danna (Matt) Arbuckle, two brothers, Rex Brooke, Gentry (Kendra) Brooke and six grandchildren, Tony, Avery, Andrew, Savannah, Joe and Annie.
Marcy Brooke Oglesby was no doubt greeted in Heaven by her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ saying, “Well done, my good and faithful servant”. Therefore, a celebration of her life will be held January 13, 2024, at 1:00 pm MST, St. Francis Cathedral, 470 Eagle Dr., El Paso, TX 79912.
