Marcelo "Papa" Hernandez 86 passed away peacefully in his sleep May 13, 2023 with both his daughters by his side. He was born in Socorro, Tx & married the love of his life on Feb 3, 1959. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather & great grandfather. He was a proud Army veteran, he was also an exceptional carpenter & foreman for many years. He was preceeded in death by his brothers' Lorenzo & Juan Hernández, his beloved wife Gregoria Hernández & their only son Carlos Hernández. He leaves behind two daughters Sonia (Rudy)Nunez & Sandy (Eddie) Carrillo, seven grandchildren, and ten great grandchildren. He will be missed beyond measure & loved by all.

Pallbearers will be Rudy Nunez, Eddie Carrillo, Robert Dorado, Eddie Carrillo III, Daemond Dorado & Nikolas Carrillo

Honorary Pallbearers are Donovin Dorado & Dominik Dorado

A Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a Prayer Service starting at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at Sunset Funeral Home- Americas, 9521 North Loop Dr, El Paso, Texas 79907. A Celebration of Life will be held from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM on Thursday, May 25, 2023 at Sunset Funeral Home- Americas. A Graveside will then follow at 1:30 PM at Fort Bliss National Cemetery, 5200 Fred Wilson Ave, El Paso, Texas 79906. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home- Americas.
