Manuela Ochoa

On Friday, August the 23rd, 21 days after her 92nd birthday, Manuela Ponce de Ochoa; also know by her family as Mom, Ama’, Jefa, and Granny, known by her siblings as Crinolina and Nelly, and known by her friends, co-workers, and the endless amount of people she touched, as Nelly, after a life time of extremely hard work, devotion and unselfishness to her family, finally learning how to be pampered and spoiled, she laid comfortable on her bed, watching her favorite old movies, she fell asleep as God finally decided that he needed the best cook in the world running his kitchen, our mom left to heaven holding God’s hand. She lived life enduring, forgiving, and working endlessly for her family, all while having the most hilarious hidden sense of humor. Our mom was and fore ever will be our super hero, the examples and lessons of love we learned from her will never be forgotten, those lessons will be passed on from generation to generation. In heaven she is now surrounded by her dearly departed loved ones; Husband Cosme Ochoa, son and daughter Jesus and Delia Ochoa, father and mother Pedro and Juanita Ponce, brothers and sister Pedro, Manuel, Jose, and Eperanza, and finally aunt Petra “Titi” Hernadez. The seeds of love she planted and nurtured, are survived by: Daughters and son Margie Garcia, Rosalba Ochoa and Luis Daniel Ochoa, son-in-law Adan Garcia, grandchildren Adam Garcia, Eden Natali Ochoa, Joshua Daniel Ochoa, Sara Evelyn Ochoa, and Isaiah Daniel Ochoa, and great-granddaughter Nirvana Ochoa. 

So…., “MOM there are no words to say goodbye, but as scripture tells us; 

(1Thessalonians 4:17 After that we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, And so we will be with the Lord forever). As we wipe our tears and try to fill that gaping hole in our chest, we will do as you have done, we will endure and we will forgive, we will love and we will protect, we will see you again MOM”

Visitation will be from 4:00 - 8:00pm with a Vigil/Rosary to begin at 6:00pm on Tuesday, September 03, 2024 at Sunset Funeral Home - Northeast, 4631 Hondo Pass Dr. Funeral Mass will be held at 12:00pm on Wednesday, September 04, 2024 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 9025 Diana Dr. Committal Service to follow at 2:00pm on Wednesday, September 04, 2024 at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, 4848 Alps Dr.
