Manuela Duran was called home to be with the Lord on June 7th,
2022. She was 79 years old. Born on February 08, 1943 to Simona I & Juan M Rodriguez in Zacatecas, Mx. Manuela was the oldest of 9 children. Her parents migrated to the US and she went to school here in El Paso Tx. She attended grade school, intermediate school and high school. She graduated as a proud Bowie Bear in 1964. She met the love of her life Jose A. Duran and married him in 1966. During her life she attended church, and came to attend PIBM here in El Paso, where she became an active member in UFM, teaching bible class, helping in the distribution of food as assistant director, and singing in the church choir. She loved to help anyone and always prayed for all who were sick, or in need. She read her bible daily and would often give advice. Her faith in God was strong. She loved to cook, shop, listen to music and of course sing. She was a strong woman despite all her surgeries & illnesses. She loved watching her Turkish & Spanish novelas, as well as watch her favorite performers on TV such as IL Volo, Pit Bull, Prince Royce, and Kpop Stars BTS. She is survived by her mother, Simona I Rodriguez, her sisters & brothers Jesus Rodriguez (Martha), Martha Lay (Rodolfo), Juan Rodriguez, Francisca Sleeper (Lonnie), Luis Rodriguez (Anna) & Rosa Mendez (Juan Manuel), Her 3 children Sandra D. Morales (David), Laura M. Duran, and Martha I. Alegre (Jose), 10 Grandchildren Jeremiah Morales, Gabriella Morales, Jacqueline Kato, Angelina Alegre, Isabella Duran, Abigail Alegre, Andres Rosales, Alejandro Rosales, Aaliyah Alegre, & Anali Alegre. 6 great Grandchildren, Ayden Franqui, Jenai Quesada, Autumn Hutchings, Sophia Morales, Paisley Hutchings & Bryan Silva Jr. 3 Honorary Grandchildren, Moises Lay, Erika Ellison, and Isacc Lay. 3 Honorary Great Grandchildren, Micah Lay, Ava Ellison, and Moxie Lay. As well as many nieces and nephews. She’s preceded in death by her father Juan M Rodriguez, husband Jose A Duran and 2 brothers, Timoteo Rodriguez and Francisco Rodriguez.

Visitation will be from 5:00 - 8:00 PM, with Prayer Service at 6:00 PM on Tuesday, June 21, 2022 at Sunset Funeral Homes-Northeast, 4631 Hondo Pass. Funeral Service will take place at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, June 22, 2022 at Sunset Funeral Homes- Northeast, 4631 Hondo Pass. Committal Service will follow at 11:30 AM at Fort Bliss National Cemetery.
