Manuel A. Romero

Manuel Romero after 86 years on this earth answered his calling July 19, 2011, joining his beloved wife Damiana Romero who preceded him in death by 19 years. Manuel was born October 12, 1924 to Damaso and Juana Romero. Manuel served his country in the US Army, and retired from the Bureau of Reclamations in 1993 after 37 years. He was preceded in death by a sister Angela Canchola, and 3 brothers, Jose Romero, Ramon Romero, and Jorge Romero. He is survived by 6 loving children, Herminia Romero, Maria Dora Vasquez, Manuel Romero Jr., Jose Romero, Sammy Romero, and Irene Pedroza. Manuel had 20 Grandchildren, 12 Great Grandchildren. Manuel is survived by 3 brothers Refugio Romero, Julian Romero, and Geronimo Romero and 1 sister, Andrea Olivas. Visitation will be on Sunday July 24, from 4:00 – 7:00 PM. Rosary to begin at 7:00 with services concluding at 9:00 pm. Funeral Mass will take place on Monday July 25th at Our Lady of Mt Carmel Church (Ysleta Mission) at the corner of Zaragoza Rd and Alameda at 10:00 AM. Internment to follow at Mt Carmel Cemetery with Military Honors. Manuel will be dearly missed by his family. His patriarch guidance, faith in the lord and ability to bring smiles to those around him will be missed, however there is consolation knowing he is in a better place free of pain and suffering.
