Magdalena Renteria

Magdalena Menchaca was born on September 16, 1925 to Alberto and Magdalena Menchaca. She married Lupe Renteria on June 7, 1942. Magdalena was embraced by God's loving arms on September 4, 2016, two weeks short of her 91st birthday. She was preceded in death by her husband Lupe and her daughter Helen Elorreaga. Maggie was a loyal wife and devoted mother to her six children. She was a homemaker for most of her life, but enjoyed her time as a teacher's aide at Houston Elementary. She retired from EPISD and dedicated the rest of her life to her family. Her family was truly her passion and she would have it no other way. Left to cherish her memory are her sons David (Terry), Daniel, and Michael (Irina) Renteria, her daughters Debbie Galindo (George), Joanne Terrazas (Victor), her son-in-law Tony Elorreaga, 18 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, and 6 great great grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings Armando Menchaca and Esther Hernandez. The family would like to extend their gratitude and love to Armida Jurado and her staff for the loving care they provided to “La Vagita”. A Visitation will be held from 10:30am-11:30am with a Funeral Service at 11:30am on Friday, September 09, 2016 at Sunset Funeral Home-West.
