Lynn Cecilia Evans was born in Panama Canal Zone, Republic of Panama, on June 10, 1942. She was the youngest of five children born to Benjamin and Miriam Evans. She attended Paraiso High School Class of 1961. She was part of the choir and the Glee club. She had two daughters: Roxana LaMotte and Desiree LaMotte. She immigrated to the United States in 1985, and there she met her husband Ramon Suarez Diaz.
She retired from New York Presbyterian Hospital as a Medical Records Abstracter. Before moving to El Paso, Texas, 2014, she was a member of Eternal Love Baptist Church, in Queens, New York. She held several positions, including choir member, Pastor’s Aid and Missionary. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who delighted in doing things to make her family happy.
Lynn was a faithful member of Destiny Church since 2014. She enjoyed listening to the Praise Team, watching Miracle Monday with Bishop and Pastor Lady Johnson, and Wednesday Empower Podcast with Pastor Perry D. Kerney, Jr., and Pastor Karen Y. Dykes.
Lynn enjoyed all type of cuisines and baking cakes for weddings and birthdays. She enjoyed crocheting, making crafts to give to her loved ones and enjoyed traveling. She was also an avid game player on her computer. She enjoyed spending time with her craft ladies, as she affectionately called them.
Lynn was very friendly and always had a smile on her face. She is survived by her daughters: Roxana and Desiree, her grandson John Moss Jr., his wife Michelle, and her beautiful great grandbabies: Isaiah, Jeremiah and Ariah.
She is preceded in death by her husband Ramon Suarez Diaz, her parents, and two siblings: Helen Grant and Alfred Evans. She is survived by two sisters Myrtle Council (Julian) and Shirley Charles. She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family and friends.
Celebration of Life will take place at 11:00 AM on Friday, February 03, 2023 at Destiny Church, 9615 Dyer Street. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Homes-Northeast. Please visit her online memorial at www.sunsetfuneralhomes.net.
