Lyman Brandon Jr. 85, passed away June 20, 2023. Lyman was born on June 23, 1937 in Durham, North Carolina. He made El Paso home 1960. He met and married his loving wife 65 years, Marguerite in 1958. Lyman was a 1955 graduate of Hillside High School in Durham where he was a star football player. After graduation, he enlisted in and served over 22 years in the United States Army. Lyman worked 22 years and retired from White Sands Missile Range. While in the military he coached basketball, winning championships and was a marksman on military rifle teams. He enjoyed bowling and he loved fishing. He spent many hours with both friends and family at area fishing spots. He was a member of the American Legion. Lyman was predeceased by his father, Lyman Sr., mother Cornelia, and sister Mary Alice. He leaves behind his wife Marguerite, daughters, Doris Ann and Edna Marie; sons Lyman III, Michael, and Michael Anthony, and grandson Michael Lloyd.
A public viewing will be held Wednesday June 28, 2023 at 12:00 pm at Sunset Funeral Homes-Northeast, 4631 Hondo Pass Drive. Gravesite service will follow at Fort Bliss National Cemetery with Military Honors.
