Luis Lozada Garcia was born in Ciales, Puerto Rico, and the youngest of 8 siblings, served his country with honors in the U.S. Army during the Korean War receiving the Purple Heart. He was a model husband and loving father instilling pride and family values to his 3 sons. He never quit, was a great provider and never complained regardless of how tough life could be at times. He retired in 1967 (U.S. Army) and continued his career with both the U.S. Customs and the Border Patrol. His great sense of humor, love of Puerto Rican culture and beautiful smile will truly be missed. A man of great character and commitment. He is survived by his wife of 67yrs, Alejita Lozada, and his three sons, Jose Luis (Eva), Eddie, and Carlos. In addition, 7 grandchildren, Helena, Carlito, Crystal Miracle, Jessica, Vanessa Aleji, Anthony and Christopher Lira, and 5 great grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 5:00-9:00pm, with a Vigil/Rosary to start at 7:00pm, Tuesday, January 15, 2013, at Sunset Funeral Home Northeast. Committal Service will take place Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at 10:30am, at Fort Bliss National Cemetery with Full Military Honors. Services entrusted to Sunset funeral Home Northeast.
