Luis “El Torreon” Hernandez died peacefully of natural causes on Monday, February 27, 2017, at the age of 84. Luis is survived by his devoted wife of 49 years, Alejandrina. He will be lovingly missed by his children, Carmen, Carlos, Luis, Tony, Roberto, Lupita and will be fondly remembered by his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. “El Torreon” proudly provided for his family as a plumber contractor for over 30 years. However, had many more stories to share from when he was a “boxeador” and from when he was the best mambo dancer in his hometown of Gomez Palacio, Durango. We are very thankful to his sisters, Juanita and Rosa, for traveling so many miles to be here with us, to affectionately attest to some of his stories, and to share so many more beautiful memories with us. There is no doubt that our viejito lived an adventurous life filled with love, laughter, and friendships. He will forever be one of our greatest blessings! Services will be held at Sunset Funeral Home, 750 N. Carolina, El Paso, TX 79915 on Thursday, March 2, 2017, from 5 pm to 9 pm. Rosary will be at 7 pm.
