Luis Garcia

Mr. Luis (Piro) Garcia, 78, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather passed away on March 11, 2013. He was born June 20, 1934 and was a lifelong resident of El Paso and was a member of the Catholic Church. He graduated from Bowie High School in 1954; Luis was a member of the Bowie High School varsity football team and was honored as an all district defensive guard, he served in the U.S. Army and retired from Raytheon Service Company. Luis was married to the late Maria C Garcia for 48 years and was preceded in death by his late wife Maria C. Garcia and by his brother Juan Garcia. He is survived by his sons Luis Garcia Jr., Mario Garcia and David Garcia. 12 Grandchildren, 10 Great Grandchildren. 1 Brother, Martin Garcia, 1 Sister Rosie Carreon. Visitation will be from 4-9 pm on Thursday, March 14, 2013 with a vigil at 7:30 pm at Sunset Funeral Home-East. Funeral Mass will be at 11 am on Friday, March 15, 2013 at St. Pius X Catholic Church. Interment will be at 1:30 pm Friday, Fort Bliss National Cemetery with military honors. Sons Luis Garcia, Jr., Mario Garcia and David Garcia, Grandsons, Mario Nicholas Garcia, David Christopher Garcia and Brandon Lou Garcia will serve as pallbearers.
