Lucinda Alvarez Blanco, 78, was called by the Lord into Eternity on February 22, 2013. She was surrounded by her loving family and passed peacefully. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Guillermo (Bobby) Blanco. Her children are Lucinda B. Apodaca (Albert), Guillermo, Jaime and Gabriel Blanco (Natalie). Her grandchildren are Alexia, Rebecca, Krista and Ali Apodaca, Lauren, Danielle, Madison and Dante Blanco. Her siblings are Ana Montes and Tony Alvarez. Preceded in death by parents Buenaventura and Ana Maria Alvarez and brothers Arturo and Luis Alfonso (Vichy). She graduated from Loretto Academy in 52’ and Texas Western in 56’ with a B.A. in Education and Masters in Spanish. She taught 2nd grade with E.P.I.S.D. for 35 years. She was a loving and giving person who put the needs of others before those of her own. The root of her strength was her deep faith in God and the Catholic Church. She will be missed dearly by her family, loved ones and friends. In this time of great sadness, we find comfort in knowing that we will see each other again. Visitation will be held from 5-9pm, Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at Sunset Funeral Home-West with a Vigil at 7pm. Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, February 28, 2013 at 11:30 am at Queen of Peace Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Fort Bliss National Cemetery.
