Lieutenant Colonel Napoleon Campos, Jr., age 45, a proud soldier of the United States Army, entered eternal rest on Wednesday, July 26th, 2023, while stationed at Tripler Army Medical Center.
Son of Napoleon Campos, Sr., and Argelis Campos; born on October 9th, 1977, Napoleon grew up in San Antonio, Texas. He attended George Washington University (Associate of Science) 1996-1998, United States Military Academy at West Point (Bachelor of Science, Chemistry) 1998-2002, Uniformed Services University (MD, Medicine) 2002-2006, and University of the Incarnate Word (Master of Healthcare Administration) 2017-2019. Dr. Napoleon Campos was a Triple Board-Certified Physician in Anesthesiology, Pain Management, and Addictive Medicine. He also held a certification as a Medical Acupuncturist.
At the age of 19, LTC Campos enlisted in the Army as a private and completed his initial training in 1996 as a Lab Technician (91K). He then attended the Army preparatory school at Fort Monmouth, New Jersey, and proceeded into a highly accomplished military career.
LTC Napoleon Campos was honored to serve the U.S. and greatly valued his military achievements including Airborne School, Air Assault School, Expert Field Medical Badge, and Flight Surgeon Aviation Badge. He achieved the rank of Lieutenant Colonel and earned multiple medals while on active duty which included:
The Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal with two bronze oak leaf, Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Overseas Service Ribbon, NATO Medal.
LTC Napoleon Campos was a brave and loyal soldier. He was passionate about Corvettes, Spurs basketball, and mom’s home cooking. He loved traveling and spending time with family and friends. His greatest pride was being a husband to Mrs. Erica Campos and father to his children: Napoleon Ulysses Campos III, Natalie Ava Campos, and Nickolas Omar Sanchez (stepson). He is also survived by his parents Napoleon Campos Sr and Argelis Campos; brothers Dan Campos, Noriel Campos, and David Campos, as well as 2 nieces and 4 nephews.
A Visitation honoring the life of Napoleon Campos will be held from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Tuesday, August 15, 2023, with a Eulogy to commence at 6:00 pm at Sunset Funeral Home-West; 480 Resler Dr., El Paso, Texas 79912. His Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, August 16, 2023, at Abundant Living Church-West; 7100 N. Desert Blvd., El Paso, Texas 79911.

Dr. Napoleon Campos had a great love for his country, the El Paso community, and serving patients as a physician with compassionate care.
