Born in Guasave, Sinaloa, Lourdes was the first woman in her family to become a naturalized citizen.
She received her GED early on and later obtained her Associate’s in Social Work. Later, she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Social Psychology, followed by her Master’s degree in General Family Counseling. She was accepted into a PhD program in Clinical Psychology where she nearly completed as she was All But Dissertation.
She was an innate lifelong learner as her extensive education clearly demonstrated. She was ambitious, funny, focused, and acutely observant and intelligent. She was very good at understanding people and their behavior, so she had the power to hurt or heal. She chose the latter.
She was in the business of healing people, prioritizing family, and constantly seeking self-improvement.
Lourdes was a naturally gifted singer and dancer. She was a great Flamenco Dancer and she dedicated life to her church as a choir member and active participant in myriad church activities and events.
She is survived by her husband, Alfredo, her children Julia, Lulú, and Alfredo II. She is also survived by her grandchildren, James Michael, Rhythm, Gisela, Sebastian, and great grandchild, Colton.
